About Martin
I am a teacher at two Estonian schools and also a software engineer with extensive experience in building websites and e-shops. My PhD research looks at how real-time feedback and AI can help students learn better on their own, make teachers' work easier, and improve how we give feedback in math lessons. The system I’m working on is being tested in Estonia and could be used in schools across Europe. Earlier, for my master’s thesis in Business IT at Tallinn University of Technology, I built a fun learning platform that helped students score higher on national exams—15% better in math and 12% better in Estonian. I also have a bachelor’s degree in IT Systems Development from the same university, where I helped build APIs to improve payment systems for a company listed on Nasdaq.

Hi, I’m Martin Filippov, a mathematics teacher at Tallinn English College and Tallinn French Lyceum. After school, I work with private students from grades 1 to 12, helping them succeed in math whether they need exam prep, weekly support, or someone who explains things clearly.
I’m a PhD student who is passionate about making math easier to understand for every student. My research focuses on how students interact with computers and AI in the learning process, and how we can use smart tools to make learning more effective. I constantly look for ways to integrate as many technologies as possible. Over the years, I’ve taught more than 3,000 students across Europe. Many of them have gone on to top schools and universities. With the right explanation and the use of modern technology, learning becomes much more enjoyable and effective.
My lessons are built around the student. I adapt to each student’s learning style and use modern tools like Zoom/Google Meet, M4 Mac, M4 iPad with Apple Pro Pencil, and interactive elements like GeoGebra, Desmos and other programs to simulate and visualize everything in the lesson. I also use Google Docs to save everything we learn in the lesson. To ensure the best possible online lesson quality, I teach from a professional studio room equipped with a studio microphone and high-quality cameras. You’ll see everything clearly on the screen, write and solve problems with me in real time, and receive full notes, solutions, and extra practice materials after every lesson. The file with everything learned in the lesson will be sent to the student and his/her parents.
I speak Estonian, English, and Russian fluently and I have language certifications. I’m available daily from 07:00 to 23:00, offering flexible lessons booking through my website. I’ll help you build confidence, understand the topics step by step, and get the results you’re aiming for.
