About Zaya
I have over 4 years of experience teaching French and hold a Bachelor of Education in French as a Second Language. I specialise in working with complete beginners, helping them take their first confident steps in the language. My teaching style is patient, approachable, and often sprinkled with humour. I use games, skits, flashcards, and storytelling to make learning grammar and vocabulary fun and memorable. Lessons are interactive, keeping students engaged while reinforcing essential skills. I focus on helping students gain confidence in everyday French communication. From simple greetings to practical conversations, my goal is for students to feel comfortable speaking in real situations. I adapt my methods to each learner, making sure everyone progresses at their own pace. Watching students grow and express themselves in French is incredibly rewarding. I celebrate small wins, laugh at mistakes, and turn challenges into learning opportunities. My lessons aim to spark curiosity and joy alongside skill development. Learning French can be playful, exciting, and deeply satisfying. I love helping students discover that joy while building strong language foundations.

My teaching approach focuses on helping students build confidence and fluency in French. I work with learners of all levels, from beginners to those preparing for academic or professional goals. I emphasise speaking speed and natural response timing, helping students feel comfortable in real conversations. Grammar is taught in context, so it becomes intuitive rather than memorised. Sentence-building games and interactive exercises make learning fun and memorable. I support students who are adapting to new environments, as well as those with academic or linguistic goals, ensuring they excel in practical and formal French. Vocabulary expansion, reading comprehension, and writing skills are all part of my lessons. I focus on creating a positive and encouraging environment where mistakes are part of learning. Listening exercises, role-playing, and practical dialogues help students apply what they learn immediately. I also guide students in pronunciation and intonation for clearer, more confident speech. By combining technique, practice, and creativity, I help students gain fluency, think in French, and communicate effectively. My goal is for every student to enjoy the language while achieving tangible progress.
