About Ruby
I’m a guitar tutor with 12 years of experience, dedicated to helping students reach their full potential. I hold an Associate Degree in Guitar Performance, which has given me a strong foundation in both technique and music theory. Over the years, I’ve prepared students for Rockschool, Trinity, and university-level guitar programs. My teaching style focuses on unlocking each student’s performance and creative potential. I believe every player has a unique voice, and my job is to help them find it. Whether you want to excel in exams, improve your technique, or develop your own style, I’m here to support you. I tailor lessons to suit your goals and learning pace. I focus on building strong skills while keeping lessons engaging and fun. I’m passionate about sharing my love for guitar and inspiring confidence in every student. Playing guitar is more than just practice; it’s a journey of creativity and self-expression. My teaching approach focuses on helping students enjoy and grow with the guitar in a way that suits their style and goals. I tailor lessons to match each student’s level, whether beginner, intermediate, or advanced. I emphasize building strong basics like finger technique, rhythm, and music reading. For those interested in classical guitar, I guide them through precise fingerstyle techniques and musical expression. Jazz students learn improvisation, complex chords, and how to explore new sounds creatively.
I also encourage using music as a tool for stress relief and emotional expression. Playing guitar can be a powerful way to relax and share feelings without words. Lessons include exercises that build confidence and help students find their unique voice. I introduce creative discovery by allowing students to experiment with different styles and sounds. This keeps learning fun and meaningful.
I support students in setting personal goals and celebrate their progress. Whether learning songs, composing, or performing, my goal is to inspire passion and growth. Overall, my method combines strong technique, creativity, and emotional connection to make guitar playing a rewarding experience.
