About Abir MUKHERJEE
I am a professional Tabla player from India with over 15 years of training in Indian classical music. I completed my graduation in Tabla from Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan which was founded by Rabindranath Tagore.
In 2019, I achieved first position at the district level for my Tabla performance, which reflects my dedication and skill in this art form.
I am passionate about teaching and sharing Indian classical music with students from around the world. My teaching style is simple, structured, and beginner-friendly, helping students build a strong foundation in rhythm and technique.
Currently, I am also studying the Japanese language, which allows me to connect with Japanese students and support them in learning Tabla more comfortably.
I can conduct lessons in English, Bengali, Hindi and also provide basic support in Japanese.

Learn Indian Classical Tabla in a simple and structured way from a trained musician of Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan.
In my lessons, you will learn basic bols (Na, Tin, Dha), hand techniques, rhythm (taal), and simple compositions step by step. I focus on clarity, proper technique, and gradual improvement so that beginners can easily understand and enjoy learning.
Classes are friendly, interactive, and suitable for complete beginners as well as intermediate students. I also provide practice guidance and personalized lessons according to your level.
Online lessons are available via Zoom or Google Meet. Lessons can be conducted in English, Bengali, Hindi and basic Japanese.
