About Raphael
I've taught at University of Alabama, Ball State University, and Marymount Manhattan College. I've won awards as composer, arranger, and pianist. My students have starred on Broadway, and work as pianists musical theatre performers, and teachers.

I start with the music that my student knows and loves. I teach keyboard technique, music reading, playing by ear, playing from "lead sheets," etc. I play and teach jazz, classical, and pop styles. If a student is interested in writing music, of any style, I'm delighted to work with them on this.
