About Tau
Holder of a B.A.Sc. Honours Chemical Engineering with a Materials & Manufacturing Methods Specialization, from the University of Waterloo. I have been tutoring since the age of 10, and my experience includes being a Kumon Tutor, Tutoring Club president at my high school, Teaching Assistant & Supported Learning Groups Leader at the University of Waterloo (where I have substitute-lectured first-year engineering courses, and created & delivered exam-prep sessions, too). Beyond that, I have also held roles as a project manager, technical recruiter, and project engineer--I know what it takes to address people's needs and work together to solve problems :)

My teaching philosophy centers on empathy and personal development. I want my students to succeed in whatever they study, but also in the greater context of their academic and personal lives! I've been a teaching assistant, substitute lecturer, and exam-prep tutor at the University of Waterloo. I have the skills and experience for 1-on-1 tutoring or large classrooms/auditoriums full of students :) I love to break down example problems and have a knack for creating my own curated problem sets in order to drive home important fundamental concepts. I believe that anyone can achieve their desired level of academic success, and I love helping people find their path to get there.

Perfect! Tau an amazing tutor! He creates a super friendly environment where you feel welcomed to ask any questions along the way. He's also super knowledgeable and organized and is able to figure out the answer to any question with ease and be able to explain it to you so that you actually get a full comprehension. Highly recommend!

Tau actually saved me in my first year of uni! My chem prof was terrible and I was barely passing at midterms, but then I started going to Tau's help sessions and I came out of the course with a 90. He has a gift for explaining things in a super simple way and never made me feel like I was asking a dumb question even when I asked him to repeat things all the time. Seemed to really know his stuff and actually enjoy teaching it which was a nice change from other TAs I've had. He also has a great sense of humor which made the material a little less dry. I credit him as the only reason I passed my course, 10/10 would recommend him as a teacher in any subject!
Simply put, Tau is a great tutor and even a greater person! He helped me improve my poor chemistry level and thanks to him I passed my chemistry course. He broke complex concepts into simpler pieces, and made sure we all understood. I felt very comfortable asking any question no matter how stupid I thought it was and he did an awesome job at answering them. Tau is very friendly, passionate, knowledgeable and helpful. I would totally recommend! :)
