About Stephen
After 15 years of teaching children and adults, I’ve learned that highly effective practice habits should be the foundational skill for any serious music student.
For the older students, after a few conversations about responsibility and productivity, they learn what I expect as they prepare for their lessons. For my youngest students, I strive to keep lessons as fun as possible, and I kindly ask parents to fill their homes with as much recorded piano music or classical singing as possible. My youngest students need to hear their family members enjoying this music regularly; if not, it’s practically impossible for them to become self-motivated little musicians.

Welcome to Stephen McCool’s In-Home Music Lessons, where students experience fun, exciting, and challenging piano lessons in their homes.
I offer three distinct programs tailored to your musical journey:

For families, I value helping parents raise productive and responsible children. I provide tools and strategies to make practice more effective and to build strong character habits through music study.

These events are low-pressure, joy-filled celebrations of growth and artistry.

• Consistently earn top scores in ABRSM Practical & Theory Exams, National Piano Guild, and NFMC Jr. Festival events.
• Recently, two students, James W. and Eva P., earned “Superior Plus” ratings in the solo piano category at the NFMC Jr. Festival.
"Accompanying & Performance Work"
• I regularly serve as pianist for the Cathedral Preschool (Cathedral of St. Philip, Atlanta), playing for their Christmas Pageants and Graduation Ceremonies.
• I accompany all my voice students during the studio parties and competitions, and I perform the second piano part for concerto categories at NFMC Jr. Festival events.
