About Ethan
Coming from a family of musicians, I first started playing the piano around the age of 8. Learning fast, I passed my final grade at 14 with Rockschool, which emphasizes variety and creative independence. Following that, I started writing original songs from the age of 15 with an acoustic guitar and at 16 playing bass for my childhood church band.
At 20 I branched out into the music industry, producing music for international clients, and playing in a rock band. Cistamatic is a punk rock band based in Cape Town, and we have recently released our first album as of 17th December 2023!

One of my first skills I teach my students is the keys of hearing the theory of music. These steps are a lot simple than what people think. The fundamentals of rhythm and melody are introduced, and once understood, applied into the music vocabulary.
The instruments I specialize in is Bass Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Piano, and Ukelele.
A lesson would be more emphasized on the exciting parts of music education i.e styles of music, learning your favorite songs, and the less exciting parts paired accordingly so that scales, technical exercises and theory have DIRECTION.
My lessons are aimed at beginner to intermediate students!
