  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

Sanskrit is not merely a language—it is the repository of India's ancient wisdom, the key to understanding our philosophy, scriptures, and intellectual heritage. My interest in Sanskrit developed during my early academic years when I realized that translations, however good, can never capture the full depth and beauty of the original texts. The precision of Panini's grammar, the philosophical depth of the Upanishads, and the poetic brilliance of Kalidasa drew me deeper into this field. As a PhD scholar at National Sanskrit University, I have the privilege of studying this sacred language in its traditional setting, exploring its grammatical structures and philosophical concepts that have fascinated scholars for millennia.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

My greatest motivation is my Guru, Pramukh Swami Maharaj. He dedicated his life to guiding millions of people onto the right path, teaching not through words alone but through his own example of selfless service and unwavering devotion. Watching him transform lives—including my own—inspired me to become a teacher myself. He showed me that true teaching is not just about transmitting information; it is about shaping character, instilling values, and helping students discover their highest potential. If I can touch even one life the way he touched mine, my efforts as a teacher will be worthwhile.
  • How does your work help society?

By teaching Sanskrit, I am helping society reconnect with its cultural and philosophical roots. Sanskrit is the language of the Vedas, the Upanishads, the Gita, and countless other texts that contain timeless wisdom relevant even today. When students learn Sanskrit, they gain direct access to these original sources—they can read the sutras as they were written, chant the mantras with correct pronunciation, and understand philosophical concepts without the filter of translation. In a world often disconnected from its heritage, my work helps preserve this ancient knowledge and make it accessible to new generations. Moreover, studying Sanskrit develops mental discipline, precision in thought, and an appreciation for linguistic beauty—qualities that benefit students in all areas of life.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

My role model is undoubtedly Pramukh Swami Maharaj. He was not a Sanskrit teacher in the conventional sense, yet he was the greatest teacher I have ever known. He taught millions of people—from illiterate villagers to world leaders—through his compassion, his patience, and his unwavering commitment to truth. He demonstrated that teaching is not confined to a classroom; it happens in every interaction, every word of encouragement, every moment of silent presence. Like the ancient rishis who taught through their lives as much as through their words, Pramukh Swami Maharaj embodied the ideals he taught. I aspire to bring even a fraction of that same spirit into my own teaching.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Outside of teaching and my Sanskrit research, I enjoy playing mobile games—they provide a relaxing break from academic rigor and, interestingly, often require the same kind of strategic thinking that analyzing Sanskrit compounds demands! I also have a deep passion for learning new things across various fields. Whether it's exploring a new philosophical text, understanding a scientific concept, or picking up a practical skill, I believe that a teacher must always remain a student first. Most importantly, I love helping others learn—there is a special joy in seeing someone's face light up when they grasp a difficult concept or discover something new about themselves through learning.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

One of my most cherished memories is of a student who came to me feeling completely lost—not just in Sanskrit grammar, but in life itself. He struggled with the basics, made countless mistakes, and often wanted to give up. I remembered how Pramukh Swami Maharaj never gave up on anyone, no matter how long it took. So I persisted with this student, offering encouragement, breaking down complex concepts into tiny steps, and reminding him that learning is a journey, not a race. Two years later, that same student not only passed his examinations with distinction but wrote me a letter saying that the patience I showed him in learning Sanskrit taught him how to be patient with himself in life. Moments like these remind me why I chose this path—teaching Sanskrit, when done with love and patience, becomes teaching for life itself.
