About Thomas
Hello, my name is Tom, a Welshman living in Edinburgh. I’m a native English speaker, a published writer and freelance editor.
I studied English at the University of South Wales and graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) degree. I went on to the University of Warwick where I graduated with an MA in Writing. I am deeply passionate about teaching students my native language.
My short stories, poetry and essays have been published in a variety of publications and my debut poetry pamphlet will be released soon. I have been a commissioned poet for Warwick Arts Centre, The Pen Museum and St. Fagan’s Museum. I love to help students develop their writing skills and learn how to express themselves in English with creativity and find their unique style.

I have experience in teaching English to teenagers, running workshops with mature students and engaging in conversation to further language knowledge. I am enthusiastic about languages and more than appreciate the privilege we English speakers have. Thus, I believe encouragement and discussion help with learning the many conflicting rules of the English language.
I believe that learning is all about perseverance. You may not get it the first time and that’s alright – that’s how it works, that’s the point of learning – and that’s why I’m here.
