About Julie
I have a degree in journalism from NYU and an MBA from Temple University. I have worked in corporate America, with nonprofit organizations, and in schools. The regimented school environment bothered me. Their days were so structured. It took a lot of the fun out of learning. My students were left without music or art. They had no way to express their creativity.

I try to use examples that the students will understand and or relate to. Using mental math as they do in school is important,but some things should be understood and available through recall.
I find that even when you put the right book in front of a student who is struggling to read, they’ll be engaged and make the extra effort. It opens their imaginations to new possibilities.
