About Nicole

I am a lecturer in theatre and performance at two London universities. I have more than 25 years' experience in teaching and education: theatre and literacy, creative approaches to learning, acting coaching, text analysis, directing, and vocabulary development. I am keen to develop my students to the highest and best level possible and seek to create a space where students are encouraged to question, and develop in a space of safety, curiosity and enquiry. My approach is that I believe my role is to 'bring out' the knowledge from the learner and every lesson is designed to inspire and encourage the highest level of attainment, using a variety of creative and incisive approaches. I am an intensive reader of all material who has formerly run book club, I am frequent theatre goer and a lover of film. I have two daughters whose education I am passionate about, and I come from a line of female teachers in my family! I am also an active theatre, TV and film director, and am highly culturally aware.

About the lesson

With an extensive background in literary analysis, performance, culture and education, I offer a dynamic and engaging kinaesthetic approach to teaching. Each 1-hour lesson is thoughtfully designed to help you learn the necessary vocabulary for 11+ Grammar school entry, for penetrating and analysing text at GCSE and A'Level English, for auditions for drama school entry or for essay writing, devising, acting directing from KS3 to BA, developing the necessary skills to achieve your goals. I have a holistic methodology that encourages learning through expression, combining creative techniques with academic rigour, making lessons proactive, practical and thought-provoking. Tailored Approach: I adapt to your learning style and objectives, ensuring every session is meaningful, memorable and impactful. Safe and Supportive Environment: My teaching style fosters collaboration and curiosity, creating a space where you can experiment, explore and discuss, and grow without judgement. Proven Expertise: From gaining top GCSE results to professional training at RADA and postgraduate studies in performance and culture, with outstanding professional achievements, I bring a wealth of knowledge to each session.
