About Victoria
I am an ex-lecturer with an English degree and a teaching and learning qualification, specialising in helping students build confidence and excel in reading, writing, and comprehension. I provide calm, structured, and supportive lessons, tailored to each learner’s needs.
I teach GCSE and A-Level students, as well as adult learners, and focus on developing practical skills alongside understanding, so students feel capable, motivated, and prepared. My approach combines explanation, guided practice, and constructive feedback, ensuring every concept is clear and memorable.
With experience supporting a wide range of learners, I am committed to creating a professional and encouraging environment where students can thrive academically and gain lasting confidence in their abilities.

I take a calm, structured, and personalised approach to tutoring, tailoring each lesson to the student’s needs and learning style. My focus is on building confidence alongside practical skills in reading, writing, and comprehension. I combine explanation, guided practice, discussion, and constructive feedback to ensure students fully understand concepts and retain what they learn.
Teaching techniques: I break down complex texts and essays into manageable steps, use interactive exercises to practise writing and analysis, and encourage questions and critical thinking. I draw on examples from literature and exam materials, track progress, and set achievable goals to help students improve steadily.
Lesson length: Sessions typically last 60 minutes, but I can offer 45–90 minute lessons depending on the student’s needs and goals.
Qualifications and experience: I hold an English degree and a teaching and learning qualification. I am an ex-lecturer with experience teaching diverse learners and supporting students preparing for GCSE, A-Level, and adult education.

My lessons are ideal for students who want a supportive, structured environment that helps them gain clarity, improve exam performance, and feel confident in expressing themselves.
