About Asher
I am a professional gigging saxophonist, and I play with a variety of bands in the Leeds music scene across different styles.
I have also been playing the saxophone and flute for 10 years and have recently completed a BA in Jazz Performance at Leeds Conservatoire
Based on my experiences, I believe that musical education should ultimately be guided by the interests and tastes of the student; because of this, each student has their own tailored lesson plan with a focus on repertoire that they enjoy playing and listening to, in combination with classic technical exercises.

My approach to music tutoring is student-centered, focusing on building a solid technical foundation, integrating theory with practice, and providing a supportive and engaging learning environment. I am equipped to effectively teach students of all ages and skill levels, helping them to achieve their musical aspirations.
Each student is unique, so I use personalised lesson plans to fit their individual goals, interests, and skill levels. I emphasise a strong foundation in music theory, technique, and ear training, and combine this with immediate practical applications at each step based on each student's musical interests to keep them engaged and motivated.
My lessons are designed for students aged 7 and above; I am equipped to teach the saxophone and general music theory at all levels, the flute to intermediate level, and clarinet to beginners.
