About Thomas
My name is Thomas, I am a final year Computer Science Student at the University of Northumbria. I am expected to achieve a First Class degree at the end of my studies. I have over 12 months experience as a Software Developer and I have experience in a range of different programming languages and technologies; Python, Swift, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, Angular, AngularJS and UIKit among others. I have previously taught multiple students Computer Science at both GCSE and A-Level. All the resources I use in my lessons are created by myself, these resources include PowerPoints, worksheets and mock assessments. I also have a strong passion for Cyber Security. I have other passions outside of computing including running, hiking, and I enjoy regularly watching the World Rally Championship too.

My lessons will be friendly and engaging. Throughout my lessons and time tutoring my students I will create a supportive environment. Students are free to ask me anything as I firmly believe there is no such thing as a stupid question. The content of the lessons are all created by myself (including PowerPoints, worksheets, and mock assessments). The work set to my students is set fairly based on their individual ability and this will be adjusted throughout my time tutoring them as they progress. The length of the lessons I teach generally range between 1 hour and 1.5 hours. I have previous tutoring experience and I have helped multiple students greatly improve their grades at GCSE and A-Level in Computer Science. My lessons are a combination of theory and programming aligning with any syllabus. I achieved Grade 8 at GCSE Computer Science and Grade A at A-Level Computer Science. Additionally, I have over 12 months experience in Software Development and I am currently undertaking a degree in Computer Science at the University of Northumbria at the end of which I am expected to achieve a First Class degree.

Perfect! Tom is a very good tutor. He is very knowledgeable about his subject and is able to breakdown his NEA in to smaller pieces making it easy to tackle. I would definitely recommend him as a tutor.

Thomas really helped me to improve my A-Level Computer Science grade, giving me the required skills to be able to achieve an A*. I found the more coding-heavy paper two more difficult, but Thomas patiently taught me to understand the more complex parts. This allowed me to feel confident going into the exam! I found Thomas to be patient, supportive and friendly and he always made sure I fully understood a topic before moving on. I would 100% recommend him as a Tutor!
Thomas has been an incredible tutor, helping me to achieve an A* in OCR Computer Science A-Level. I found the programming (paper 2) element of the course quite overwhelming at times, which was limiting my grade. Thomas tutored me and taught me the required skills to be able to tackle this paper - all whilst remaining patient and friendly. I always felt able to ask a question and thoroughly enjoyed each of our lessons. It was evident that Thomas had put a lot of time into the creation of his lesson plans, resources and homework pieces which I really appreciated. I would 100% recommend his tutoring!

My hourly fee for any type of lesson is £18/hour. There is no fluctuation in pricing for any materials used in the lessons. All the materials used in my lessons are created by myself and are tailored to best match the student's current skill level.
Booking a block of 5 hours of lessons provides you with a discount of 5% making the total price £85
Booking a block of 10 hours of lessons provides you with a discount of 15% making the total price £153
