About Kirsty
My name is Kirsty. I currently teach A-Level Dance at a sixth form college where I am proud to achieve 100% pass rate and an 86% A*C- grade average. My students do particularly well on the written paper every year because of my enthusiam and skills in delivering high quality education. I have a Grade 1 (Outstanding) teaching qualification - PGDE in Performing Arts - where I taught KS3 and A-Level Dance, and a 1st Class honours degree in Contemporary Dance.

My lessons are tailored to your needs - I can support you in achieving high grades in your written essays by working with you on structure, detail and subject knowledge. I can run revision style or taught lessons to develop your understanding of the theory of dance. I am also able to offer PowerPoints and other lesson resources as part of my fee which you can keep in preparation for your exam. I can support you in one off lessons or I can develop a long term plan to support your writing and develop your confidence in the theory side of dance. I could also support you with your choreographic ideas. I specialise in Rambert Dance Company and the ICDSIB (Sutra) though I am well adept to support students who study the Jazz (Singing in The Rain) or Modern (Appalachian Spring) modules in A-Level Dance.

Kirsty always provides a wide range of practical resources that I have had previous access to and has given me a high success rate helping me achieve a grade A in A-Level dance.
Kirsty offers a wide range of important aspects within the theory of dance. She explores not only a vast amount of practitioners within the contemporary dance field yet also much-needed knowledge like choreographic intention, production, score, costume etc.. that structure such significant contemporary pieces that you will need to know for A-Level dance. However, having to adapt not only the practical element of dance as well as the theory can be daunting! Therefore, as a past A-Level dance student taught by Kirsty, I highly recommend her as a tutor for any extra help or advice!
Kirsty is an incredible tutor/teacher. She is extremely kind and caring and makes you feel so welcome to ask any questions or for any assistance. She has an incredible knowledge and passion for dance which really encourages engagement when completing and learning about new subjects! As a previous student of hers I could not recommend her enough as she really loves what she does and as a result makes you love the subject just as much.
