About Diya
Hi! I am a university student with some free time on my hands so I've decided to tutor people online.
English is a subject that I quite enjoy and even thought of getting a degree in before choosing a different path. I write quite often and thought I would tutor people so they can find the joy in English the same way I did.
Although it is the language most of us speak often, there are ways to mould it in beautiful ways (or use it to get the grade you want!) which is what I aim to teach :)

I have a relaxed approach to teaching and focus on qualitative development and improvement of essential skills needed to excel in English. I explore topics with my students instead of spoonfeeding them ideas or making rigid rules and I work with them to help them understand the foundations of the English language and how it can be built upon to create good pieces of work.
I did GCSE and A-level English both of which I scored above 85% in and I have been teaching my friends and family English for a very long time. I thought I might as well get compensated for it. I also interned for a small start-up as a proofreader for marketing material over a summer in high school.
I am willing to teach at any level below university degree level and work well with older people who may be trying to get more proficient in English. I specialise in English language essays with a focus on creative writing - I'm best at descriptive writing be it short form or long form. I also specialise in standardised tests for English such as ACT, SAT, IELTS or any tests you can think of!
My lessons would last 1-2 hours, depending on the needs or requests of my students. I'm quite flexible with timing so it wouldn't be an issue and I can work through an entire piece with a student if necessary.
