About Marissa
I've had a strong enthusiasm for English for as long as I can remember. I remember writing stories when I was younger and would read them out in class. For this reason, it's no surprise that it was my best-achieved grade. After volunteering for a year with children, I developed a passion for helping and aiding people with their personal and academic development. I'd love to assist in helping you or your child to excel in your studies at school, and I'm ready to adapt to whatever learning style is best suited. I can offer a broad spectrum of assistance, first helping with the understanding of specific areas where improvement is required, and then later evolving into more challenging areas that will contribute to academic success in English. My lessons can range from revision to analysing poetry, novels and plays. For this reason, I believe that I am a candidate perfect for consideration!

In my tutoring sessions, I'll offer comprehensive support in poetry, novels and plays, tailored to each of your needs. With my personal experience of achieving a grade of 9 in English, I provide effective revision techniques and exam preparation to boost your confidence and performance. My sessions provide an in-depth literary analysis, enhancing understanding of themes and characters, the writer's intention and the broader societal context. Together, we'll explore the texts you're analysing in school and practise exam questions, ensuring that you are well-equipped and ready to excel in your GCSEs.
