About Emily
Hi, I’m Emily! I’m a friendly and enthusiastic tutor who loves helping children learn, grow, and feel more confident in themselves.
I have experience working with children as an instructor, where I developed patience, strong communication skills, and the ability to keep young learners engaged and motivated. I recently achieved strong academic results and am excited to share my knowledge with students who need support or want to build their confidence.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy going on walks and hiking, and I’m currently studying acting. I also have a real passion for the arts and music, which I like to bring into my lessons where possible to keep them creative and enjoyable.
I understand that every child learns differently, so I always aim to be supportive, encouraging, and approachable. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and proud of their progress.

My Approach to Tutoring
I aim to make my lessons both fun and productive, whether they are held in person or online. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable and engaged, so I create a positive environment where they can enjoy learning while still making clear progress.
I take a supportive and patient approach, working at each student’s individual pace to make sure they fully understand what they are learning. I adapt my teaching and materials to suit their ability, ensuring lessons are challenging enough to help them improve, but not overwhelming.
Teaching Style & Techniques
My lessons include clear explanations, interactive activities, and practice tasks to reinforce understanding. I focus on building confidence as well as skills, encouraging students to ask questions and take an active role in their learning.
Lesson Length
Lessons typically last between 30 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the student’s age, focus, and needs.
Experience & Background
While I am at the beginning of my tutoring journey, I have experience working with children as an outdoor residential instructor, which has helped me develop strong communication and engagement skills. I also achieved strong academic results and am enthusiastic about helping others succeed and grow in confidence.

I offer tutoring for primary school students (ages 6–11), supporting a range of abilities—from those who need extra help to those looking to build confidence and improve their skills.
