About Ethan
For 11+ and 13+ I underwent tutoring for English, and given the prowess of my tutor it became my strongest subject.
Plenty of tutors have knowledge, yet given my background, coming from not really understanding how to perform well in English, I can offer more.
In my eyes I offer five things which one sees individually within other tutors, but rarely combined:
1. Deep knowledge of the subject.
2. Ability to impart knowledge to students in a manner that is understandable and memorable (and NOT BORING!)
3. Ability to mesh the above two points with exam technique.
4. The skill to work to a deadline.
5.Recent exam experience.

I’ve come from “just not getting it” to it being my strongest subject... I get what works, and I get how to diagnose what’s wrong (even when you’re not sure why you keep slipping up!)

I am entirely flexible for time.
Generally I think that 45min/1hr/1hr30mins sessions work best, but everyone is different (and has different schedules.
Generally I teach like so:
1. Find out major issues.
2. Ensure understanding in a memorable manner.
3.Discussion on wider context and making it more interesting.
4. Integration with exam technique.
5. Ensure full awareness.
6. Use understanding as a link to find more problems.
