About Rashawe
Teaching is a special profession and needs one to be dedicated to it, I have taught science for six years at the University of Limpopo in the department of education and also in high school. I'm a qualified biologist with an MSc in Zoology from the University of Stellenbosch and am currently enrolled with the University of Fort Hare for my Ph.D. I confident in my teaching and have fast experience in assessing, moderating, and practicals.

My teaching philosophy as a life science teacher is a constructivist approach, while helping students form new connections within the context of biology. Constructivism is based on the premise that we all construct our perspective of the world, based on individual experiences and internal knowledge. This theory is used to focus on preparing students to problem solve, not to memories information, but concentrates on thinking and understanding. In this competitive and changing world where information is increasing daily, a lecturer should encourage students to be actively involved in the lecture, rather than passive listeners.
I use the learner-centered method as is one of the best ways to teach and it promotes students to work collaboratively or independently while performing an activity. Moreover, students talk and instructor monitores; In most of my lectures, the lecture hall is noisy and full of activities, which students undertake regularly. Activities given in during the lesson to students are likely to retain and transfer the new knowledge to real life, for example, discovery learning, cooperative learning, problem-solving methods, collaboration, and classroom discussion.
