About Kedero
I grew up as an avid reader. My love for reading eventually morphed into a desire to write, particularly short stories and poetry, which manifested itself in the love for the use of the English Language generally. This ultimately paved the way for me to complete my BA in Language, Community and Society with a Minor in English Language at the Secondary level at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. The choice of minor stemmed from the idea that my passion for the language could transcend onto young minds and help them to get a more firm grasp of using the English Language in a society where it is our official language, yet not our mother tongue. This choice led me to a successful career in teaching English Language and English Literature at the CSEC and GCSE level as well as Communication Studies at the CAPE level for the past six (6). During this time, I have had a 100% pass rate for each set of examinations I prepared and mentored my students for. I eventually branched out into one-on-one tutoring, of not only CXC examinations, but also SAT and IB, with the success rate being reflective of my classroom students. It is my desire to help people to gain a sense of gratification by mastering the verbal and nonverbal aspects of the English Language.

I take a practical approach to teaching - it's an approach that I find puts the students' need at the forefront whilst I stand by their side, with a gentle hand urging them to unleash their greatness - to maximise their full potential. Through this practical, hands-on approach, I am better able to facilitate my students' learning by encouraging critical thinking and evaluation. They are allowed to problem solve and self-reflect in order to redirect their learning to ensure that they have mastered each topic, not just on paper, but in the practicalities of everyday life.
