About Antoaneta
Hello, I believe all students have the capacity to learn effectively, when taught in the best way suited to them. Together with my students, I first like to explore strategies to see how they respond, in order to maximise success. This is part of my teaching philosophy. About my background: I am a final year Doctoral candidate in Applied Linguistics at Queen Mary University of London. I have completed a Masters in English Linguistics at University College London and hold a Bachelors in English Literature from the University of York with starred First Class Honours. I have also obtained a Cambridge English Teaching Certificate (CELTA) in June 2017. The last two summers, I have worked as an English Teacher for Studio Cambridge and Discovery Summer where I taught students between the ages of 5-16. Teaching is my passion and I have experience teaching 1:1, small groups, (5-8) and larger groups of up to 24. I am an enthusiastic teacher, interpersonal skills matter greatly to me and I like adjusting my teaching style to cater to learners' needs. What I value most is to maintain a positive yet focused atmosphere. I am patient and value thorough lesson plans but am also able to think on the spot. Having lived in various countries, I speak German, Swiss, French, English and Bulgarian. Additionally, depending on the students' preferences, I can teach American or British English, as I have also spent a year living in the U.S. I further possess a high intercultural awareness and enjoy working with individuals from various backgrounds. Previously, I have also taught German in schools in the UK and tutored students privately. I am grateful for your interest and look forward to hearing from you! My mom met her and she helped me when I was taking Cambridge language exams (CFE and Advanced). We practised writing, reading, vocab and speaking. She loves grammar, I didn’t but she made it easy. Always fun lessons and very likeable teacher. Would write multiple references if I could, Highly recommend.
