About Emily

Language patterns clicked for me the first time I heard the rhythmic cadence of a foreign dialect in a bustling airport terminal. I spent years navigating both sides of ESL as a learner and then as a teacher to sharpen my perception. Today I help students who struggle with speaking confidence and pronunciation move forward.

Helping you build vocabulary or refine presentation skills is a quiet but steady process. I focus on how you approach a problem rather than just providing the answer. You will eventually build enough skill to handle these tasks alone.

Starting with a diagnostic level test allows me to see the exact structure of your current grammar and flow. This initial assessment creates a clear map for the work we will do together over the coming weeks.

My background from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill informs the linguistic frameworks I apply to your writing or reading comprehension challenges. Professional email and letter writing require attention to the subtle nuances of tone that I enjoy dissecting with learners. I treat each session as a collaborative space where we clarify your thoughts through precise language use. It feels meaningful to watch my students gain autonomy in their daily communication.
