About Maya

I have worked with local theaters, volunteer organizations, schools, and virtual theater companies to provide reading support and writing education. I am a playwright and young adult literature author. I have been teaching for 4 years, and am very excited to provide specialized one on one teaching support!

About the lesson

Hello! I am a young adult literature author, as well as a playwright. I am an alum of the School of the New York Times, where I developed strong writing, journaling, and editing skills. I write with English professors at Southeastern University and have taken many writing workshops through Duke University’s Talent Identification Program. I have extensive teaching experience, both virtual and in person. I have spent time volunteering at New Hope for Kids, strengthening both reading skills and performance ability and instilling confidence in young kids and teens. I also served as an apprentice at Orlando Family Stage, and I currently work with a virtual theater company, Amateur Broadway, as an coach, where I teach acting, writing, scene study, cold reading, and improvisation. I also led a reading support group at the Jewish Academy of Orlando to help boost kids’ reading skills and confidence in their abilities in reading and reading comprehension. I offer very affordable rates and easy explanations of difficult concepts, and customize lesson plans for each individual student. Everyone is different, so it follows that we all learn differently! I would love to work with you to help strengthen your English skills!
