About Katie

I am a First-Class Honours English Literature and Film Graduate from the Warwick University. I have tutored students in written- based subjects for three years and I have a 100% pass- rate. I tutor students of a wide range of abilities and increase their overall confidence in their essay-based subjects.

I achieved an A* in my English Literature and Language A-level. I have tutored students from the ages of 12-18 in English Language, English Literature and English as an additional language.

About the lesson

I focus on improving the confidence and written abilities of my students, using a range of engaging resources and encouraging students to push themselves in their reading and writing in order to achieve the best results they can.
For my GCSE and A-Level students, the focus is on exam technique and familiarisation with the mark scheme of each exam board, ensuring that individuals fully understand what is being asked of them in order to improve their grades.
I am a smiley, friendly tutor and all of my lessons are tailored to the needs of each individual student. I aim to create a safe environment for students to address the areas of their learning that need additional support. I set weekly homework and my marking time is included in my price. All I ask of my students is to try their best in our lessons, complete all homework by the deadlines and to update me on any issues they are having with their English work at school or college.
My lessons are inclusive and LGBTQI+ friendly.

Articulate, friendly and with a good sense of humour, Katie has experienced tutoring herself in Maths and French and can relate to any concerns you may be having with studying English. I had struggled throughout my years at school and was struggling to get anything higher than a C despite lots of 'Drop In's' with my school teachers. However, Katies excellent and thorough approach to teaching suited me perfectly and we worked really well together, with her kind and patient approach being just what I needed. I managed to achieve a strong A in both English Literature and Language, which ended up being my stand out GCSE results. Details

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic I am only offering online tutoring through Skype but this has not proven an issue for any of my current students.

Once lockdown restrictions ease I will begin offering both online and in person lessons again. I am based in Swansea, have car access and am willing to travel.
