About Amanda
I have my bachelors degree in Psychology. After college I became a substitute teacher for elementary schools. I taught 1st and 3rd grade at one elementary school for 3 years. I was a long term substitute meaning I stayed in the same classroom for a minimum of 3 months. I took on the responsibilities of the teacher who was on leave. While I taught I tutored my students after school hours helping them have all the tools they needed to succeed in the classroom. I have been a stay at home mom for the last 2 years and am ready to start educating students again!

My teaching method focuses on the student to make sure they have a clear understanding of the lesson. I accomplish this method with one on one or small groups to give each student a change to talk, interact and be in control of their learning. Since most of my background is in elementary education I believe forming a strong, trusting relationship with the student is important. Get to know what they are interested in to make learning more fun for them on their level.
