About Brian

I'm a machine learning engineer with industry experience at AI and robotics startups, where I've worked across the full ML stack — from data quality and model training to deployment on edge hardware. My research background includes published work in NLP and mechanistic interpretability, with a paper accepted to the ICLR 2026 Workshop on LLM Reasoning.

I studied computer science with a focus on computer vision and have hands-on experience with PyTorch, diffusion models, transformer architectures, and robotics middleware. I've worked on real production systems under tight constraints, which gives me a practical perspective that goes beyond what most textbooks cover.

About the lesson

My approach centers on building intuition before syntax — I want students to understand why something works before worrying about how to implement it. A typical session starts with diagnosing where the student is stuck, then working through the concept from first principles using concrete examples before returning to their specific problem.

I specialize in machine learning, Python, and computer vision, with industry experience at ML startups and published research in biostatistics and mechanistic interpretability.
