About Ghous
I'm Ghous, a Birmingham based tutor with an MSc in Electronics and Electrical Engineering (Distinction) from the University of Chester, where I now teach as a Visiting Lecturer on a Master's module covering data analytics, machine learning and generative AI. The coursework you are stuck on is the kind of work I set and mark myself, so I know exactly what examiners are looking for and where marks get lost.
Outside teaching I work as a freelance engineer and I have accepted international conference papers on deep learning for image classification, both on building small, efficient neural networks that actually run on real hardware. When you ask why your model isn't converging, or how to justify an architecture choice in a report, you get an answer from someone who does this work rather than a rehearsed tutorial explanation.
My students usually arrive in one of three situations: an ML or AI module they've stopped being able to follow, a final year project or dissertation with a deadline closing in, or a career change into data science where the online tutorials quietly stopped making sense. I've worked with university students in the UK and abroad, with school students, and with working professionals starting from zero Python.
I'm patient and I don't rush. If the real gap is the maths underneath a model, we go back and fix that first. Message me with what you're working on and I'll tell you honestly whether I'm the right person to help.

Every lesson is built around what you are actually being assessed on. Send me your module handbook, assignment brief, dissertation spec or the code that isn't working, and I'll plan the session around it before we meet. No generic curriculum.
Who I teach
University undergraduates and postgraduates on AI, ML, data science and computer science modules. Final year and Master's students doing ML projects or dissertations. Working professionals moving into data roles. Complete beginners who want Python properly, not copied from a video.
What I cover
Python for data science (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, scikit-learn). Deep learning with TensorFlow and Keras. Core theory: regression, classification, clustering, decision trees, random forests, neural networks and CNNs, plus the linear algebra, calculus and statistics that sit underneath them. Computer vision and image classification, which is my published research area. Model evaluation, overfitting, hyperparameter tuning and the parts that usually cost marks. Writing up ML work to academic standard, including methodology, results and critical evaluation.
How a lesson runs
We start with the specific thing blocking you. I explain the concept with a worked example, then you drive while I watch and correct, because you learn far more doing it than watching me do it. You leave with annotated notes and a clear next step. Between lessons you can send me questions and I'll reply.
Practical details
Online over Google Meet or Zoom with a shared whiteboard and screen sharing, or in person around Birmingham. Lessons are 60 or 90 minutes. Evenings and weekends available. I reply to messages within a few hours.
Tell me your module, your deadline and where you're currently stuck, and I'll come back with a plan for the first session.

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
Sir Ghous is an electrical engineer with a very strong understanding of his subjects. He explains things in a simple way and is very friendly and patient while teaching. He helps in building strong basic concepts. He is a dedicated teacher, and I truly recommend him.
I had the privilege of learning from Professor Ghous and it was honestly one of my top learning experiences. He explains things in a simple and practical way that makes even the harder topics feel doable. He really cares about his students and is always patient, when you ask him a question. You can tell that he genuinely enjoys teaching, and that enthusiasm works as a charm in favour of his students. I’d highly recommend taking his course if you want to truly understand the subject instead of just cramming it. By the end of your term with him, you don’t just learn the material, you actually start appreciating the field.
Ghous is a trustworthy mentor and teacher. I strongly recommend Ghous Ali as an electrical engineering tutor. He explains the difficult concepts clearly, teach with patience, and provide practical examples that make learning easier. Provide a flexible schedule for lessons. A highly effective and reliable tutor.
He is very Cooperative and has strong concepts. Well recommended!
I took lessons from him for my calculus course. He simplified every concept for my understanding, took the time solving the problems I faced while learning and was very supportive throughout the sessions. He took the lessons at my pace and made sure it was fun to learn and that I was not overwhelmed by it. I would recommend him if you are struggling and need someone who makes sure the lessons are engaging and fun.

The first 30 minutes are free. We use that time to go through your module, brief or code so I can tell you honestly whether I'm the right fit before you commit to anything.
Lessons run 60 or 90 minutes, online or in person around Birmingham. The rate is the same either way.
Packs work out cheaper per hour and suit anyone working towards a deadline, since we can plan the whole run of sessions rather than picking things up week by week. Most dissertation and final project students book a pack.
The rate covers more than the hour itself. I prepare around your actual assignment beforehand, you get written notes after each session, and you can message me between lessons with questions at no extra cost.
Travel within Birmingham is included. Further afield, message me and we'll sort something out.
