About Mia
I bring a warm, interactive, and storytelling-based approach to teaching Math that helps students overcome math anxiety and see numbers in a whole new light. My lessons are filled with real-life examples, simple games, and visual aids that make abstract concepts tangible and fun. I specialize in turning fear into curiosity especially for students who think math just isn’t their thing. From algebra to pattern recognition, logical puzzles to historical math anecdotes, I blend rigor with creativity to spark genuine interest. I believe every student has a unique way of connecting with math, and I adapt my teaching style to meet them where they are. My sessions are particularly effective for Quant and Economist personas who need both precision and big-picture understanding. I’m a passionate Maths tutor with over 7 years of experience and an MSc in Mathematics. My specialty lies in guiding students through numerical methods and approximation techniques that form the backbone of modern problem-solving. I help learners break down complex equations into manageable steps and understand how to approach solutions with clarity and confidence.
Whether it’s solving nonlinear equations, performing numerical integration, or tackling differential equations, I make sure students grasp both the logic and the algorithm behind the method. I’ve supported engineering students in understanding error analysis and iterative methods. I’ve also worked with computer science majors applying numerical techniques to algorithm design and machine learning models. My sessions for students in quantitative finance emphasize modeling techniques, such as finite difference methods, for predicting market behavior.
With a strong focus on computational approaches, I teach how to implement these techniques using real-world data and tools. My students learn not only the theory but also how to apply it using MATLAB, Python, or Excel. I believe in making abstract math practical and empowering.
