About Hope
Hi, I'm Hope! I graduated with my Master of Fine Arts degree from an accredited graduate Creative Writing program in January of last year and have almost a decade of experience working at a collegiate level with secondary up through graduate level coursework.
I successfully worked with students just starting to brainstorm essay ideas, paragraph development, grammar and proofreading, critical analysis of texts, and beyond. While this is a professional space, I like to keep my sessions informal, chatty, and lighthearted. Tutoring shouldn't be a drag!
The ultimate goal of tutoring is for you to eventually not need it anymore. I intend to help you build the skills necessary to become a stronger, more confident writer.

I will meet you where you are in the process, whatever that process might be and whatever questions you may have. I like to keep things somewhat informal and chatty; I want to hear about what you're working on! :) I'm comfortable working with general tenth grade work up through graduate level work.
In session, I like to work through whatever problems my student may be having by asking questions that we try to answer together. I'm always learning too! My techniques are generally investigatory: what question is at the core of the student's issue, and how can we best answer that question?
While working for a local community college that has a wide variety of students, I had the privilege of meeting people from all walks of life and who had all kinds of difficulties and concerns. I feel confident I can help you figure out what your next steps are, and help you meet your writing goals. :)
