About Amy
I have a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, and a Master's degree in Mathematics. I spend most of my time working with students who have difficulty with math. I have taught for over a decade, and I have spent the last five years teaching online.
I like teaching math because math is the same everywhere in the world. So, you only have to learn it once, and you can use it wherever you go!
I consider it to be important for all students to have the support they need in order to learn math. I am happy to find different ways for students to relate to the math that they are learning.

I enjoy tutoring one-on-one with students because it is a great way to answer students' questions without the nervousness that a classroom can bring. I always start by asking what questions students have for me. Then, when I have answered their questions thoroughly, I will work with them on the lesson I have planned. I plan lessons based on what students need to work on in order to achieve their goals.
I have experience teaching and tutoring Mathematics in all kinds of settings. I have spent the last five years tutoring online. I mostly tutor in Mathematics, working with students who need extra attention to excel in their classes. I will gladly use any resources that will benefit the student. For example, I had a student who wanted to pass a particular test. So, we used an online book that was provided by the textbook company that his school used. This way, the student was not only learning the math, he was also learning how problems would be worded for his particular test.
I look forward to helping students achieve their goals.
