About Sophia
I am an English tutor with over 4 years of experience and a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics with a focus on English Literature. I am passionate about reading, storytelling, and creative writing, and I love sharing that passion with my students. My lessons are designed to make reading and writing engaging, inspiring, and enjoyable. I help students improve reading comprehension, essay writing, literary analysis, and vocabulary through exciting texts and imaginative tasks. We explore stories, poems, and novels together, bringing the material to life. I work with teens, college students, and aspiring writers, tailoring lessons to each learner’s goals. Creative writing exercises and discussion-based tasks encourage students to think critically and express themselves clearly. I focus on helping learners build confidence in their writing while developing a deeper understanding of literature. My approach balances structure with creativity, making learning both effective and fun. I aim to unlock each student’s creativity, helping them express ideas freely and confidently in English. My teaching approach focuses on helping students use English confidently in everyday life. I emphasize casual speaking, daily routines, and practical conversation skills that are useful in real situations. Lessons are relaxed, interactive, and tailored to each student’s pace.
I create exercises that encourage speaking naturally, practicing common phrases, and building vocabulary for personal and social life. Role-plays, dialogues, and real-life scenarios make learning engaging and enjoyable. Listening and pronunciation exercises help students sound clear and confident.
I also guide students in expressing themselves comfortably, whether at work, while traveling, or in casual conversations. Short practice sessions build confidence, while longer activities strengthen fluency. I use stories, games, and everyday examples to make lessons relatable.
Progress is tracked through feedback and regular review, helping students see their improvement. I aim to make English learning practical, fun, and stress-free. My goal is to help learners feel confident and excited to use English every day.
