About Michaela
My name is Michaela, and I am an international educator living in California's Bay Area. Originally from Burgundy, France, I was raised in a multicultural and multilingual environment by my British mother and Colombian father. Growing up trilingual has provided me with a deep appreciation for languages and cultural diversity. Both of my parents and my older sister are established professionals in the wine and spirits industry. My sister, based in Amsterdam, runs her own sustainable brand, Avallen Calvados, from Normandy, France. While my family's path has been in the beverage sector, I have chosen a different route. As a passionate and committed teacher in the United States, I find immense fulfillment in my profession and am dedicated to helping my students succeed. Despite the unique career paths within my family, I am proud of my choice and cannot envision myself in any other field.

Michaela made the lessons so much fun.
Her conversations, knowledge and the way she led the lessons - everything was very professional, pleasant and with a lot of patience.
Every student got his/her attention and time to speak and practice french. She answers everything, and she is always pleased to help.
Michaela herself speaks all the time in French which was great. She is also native in English which makes her explanations more clear.
Needless to say that Michaela masters all the teaching materials.
In addition, Michaela excels at all the zoom tules and I felt that it makes the lesson much more fluid. Her ability to dominate the technical tools and simultaneously continue the flow of the lesson made it much easier for e to get a clearer picture.
