About Yao
I am a highly passionate, driven, and creative language teacher who achieved my Master of Applied Linguistics (TESOL Studies) at the University of Queensland with a relatively high GPA (6.2/7). Second and foreign language teaching is my interest field, and my studies at UQ help me systematically and theoretically improve my professional skills.
I kept focusing on my studies all the time and systematically acquired second/foreign language learning and teaching approaches and skills, including curriculum design, class delivery, assessment design, materials adaptation and feedback and evaluation.
After theoretical learning, I am looking for more opportunities to practice teaching to help me better understand and exert the theories and approaches I learned. Also, I hope to continue my academic journey by virtue of the experience accumulating. Moreover, I am happy and honoured to help those who are interested in or struggling with language learning, no matter what for exam purposes or real-life use.

I teach flexibly based on the student’s learning status and needs and design various learning activities aimed at helping my students develop their target language skills and real-life language use.
My suggested class length is 2 hours for a session with a 10-minute break meantime, and one or two sessions every week.
I have both Chinese and English tutoring and teaching experience and have a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics (TESOL) at UQ. I am able to teach all levels of Chinese as a second language learning learners and English learners under the advanced level.
With my best effort, I will use my professionalism, passion and patience to help every student in the subject they need to practice and advance.
