About Chloé
A bit more about me...
I’m doing my first year of biomedical/mechanical engineering at Carleton. Prior to this, I completed a Master's in neuroscience, so have been in science for a very long time (2 years of CEGEP at Heritage College, 3 years of Bachelor's at McGill University, and 1.5 years of Master's at the University of Calgary). I've also been teaching for a very long time: I've been helping my peers study and learn the material since I was in high school, when I was at Heritage College I was officially a peer mentor and mentored ESL and Linear Algebra (although I was also eligible for biology, calculus I and mechanics, among other things), and when I was at McGill I made practice exams for our classes and was an undergrad TA for an ethics class. I also have 5+ years of mentoring children and teenagers as a swimming instructor, and derive many of my pedagogical skills from that.
I absolutely love teaching, because there's nothing more rewarding for me to help someone improve and see them grow as a person. As you see, I've done it quite a bit, and I am definitely looking forward to do it some more!

Hello! My name is Chloé and I just graduated from my Master's degree at the University of Calgary. While this ad only lists science, I am also proficient in English (college-level writing) and French (can teach French second language).
As a tutor, my main concern is to adapt myself to your learning style so you can get the most out of my lessons as possible. That means my first step is always to determine what you know, what you're shaky on, and what you need to practice, as this will inform the material I prepare going forward. In terms of teaching style, my main goal is to make you understand the material. Let's say I'm teaching you math: I will show you an example, walk you through solving one, and then supervise you solving a couple more problems until you're able to explain to me what you are doing.
I can teach anything from middle school to first year of undergrad. Just let me know what you need and what level you're at, and we'll get started!
