About Mara
My teaching approach focuses on helping each student find their unique voice at the piano. I blend strong fundamentals with creative expression, so learners build both skill and confidence. Lessons cover a wide range of topics, including classical phrasing, articulation techniques, expressive dynamics, and performance memory. I guide students in reading music, developing good technique, and understanding form and structure. For those interested in songwriting or modern styles, I also teach chord progressions, improvisation, and playing by ear. Whether you're learning to perform your own compositions or play your favorite pop songs, I give the tools to make your music shine. I encourage exploration and support different learning styles. Together, we break down complex pieces and work through them with patience and care. I also use fun memory tools and practice strategies to prepare students for confident performance.
