About Keren
Hello future tutee! I am a passionate math academic with a love for finding the beauty in mathematics, but more importantly, convincing students of its beauty! I started tutoring high levels of mathematics as a 15 year old, and have continued in math education since. I received my B.S. in Applied Mathematics from UCLA, and am currently a Master's student for secondary math education at Harvard Graduate School of Education. During the day, I work as an AP Statistics teacher a local charter high school. I have high content understanding of all math levels in middle and high school (advanced and non advanced), and I have much experience working with different learning techniques that will ensure my students leave feeling much better about the math!

My style as a math teacher/tutor incorporates progressive techniques I developed at Harvard Graduate School of Education and the Curtis Center for Math and Teaching in the UCLA Math Department. Specifically, I implement application-based lessons that encourage students to create their own understanding using scaffolded materials, innovative procedures, and meaningful lesson content. My goal is for students to feel safe, welcome, and deserving of being a student receiving the particular math content. I encourage my students to treasure their mistakes, challenge prior notions, debate mathematically, and ignite their agency in each session.
