About Cherry
I am a first time mother currently on maternity leave from my 6 year teaching career. I miss the connections I use to build with my students and would love to provide that support to students through tutoring.Through my years of teaching, I have catered to a diverse range of students, ranging from ones who required a lot of extra support to gifted students who required more challenges. I hope to be able to provide that again for my future students.

From teaching early years I have the knowledge and understanding of the foundation required to become a good reader. My lessons will assist my students in phonics, decoding and importantly, comprehending what they are reading.
From working in a naplan year level (one of the top scoring schools), I have gained the knowledge of teaching different text types. My lessons will cover different writing prompts, how to hook a reader in and examples of how to write a captivating text.
Mathematical concepts can be hard to understand, and through teaching the early years, I see the big benefits in hands on activities and real world examples. My lessons will help my students understand the concepts rather than purely rote learning the ‘math’. This will include using materials as well as solving mathematical reasoning problems.
My lessons will run from anywhere between 30-90 minutes depending on my student’s age and needs.
I can teach anywhere between pre-prep (before the beginning of prep) up to year 7. if your child is in need of support in any of the above areas, I would absolutely love to help them.
