Whether you are transitioning from classical piano, a complete beginner wanting to play your favourite standards, or looking to understand music theory from a fresh perspective, I break down jazz into clear, practical building blocks.
We will cover:
Jazz Harmony Essentials: 7th chords, rootless voicings, upper extensions, and voice leading.
Core Progressions: Navigating the iconic II-V-I progression smoothly.
Improvisation & Scales: How to use pentatonics, blues scales, modes, and chord tones to build meaningful solos.
Groove & Timing: Developing a solid swing feel, comping techniques, and rhythmic confidence.
