About Vela
My teaching approach is built on clear communication and empathy. I take time to understand each student’s background, goals, and challenges before planning lessons. I explain piano techniques, theory, and musical ideas in a simple and clear way, so students feel confident while learning. I adjust lessons based on the student’s learning speed, academic workload, and musical interests. For college students, I balance technical training with practical application, such as performance preparation and interpretation. I also respect cultural sensitivity by valuing different musical styles and backgrounds, helping students connect personally with the music they play.
I provide honest feedback, clear progress tracking, and realistic guidance. Along with Piano, I also teach music theory, composition basics, ear training, and performance skills. My goal is to help students grow as confident, skilled, and expressive musicians with a strong understanding of music.

I am a dedicated Piano tutor with over 10 years of teaching experience, specializing in working with college students. Over the years, I have helped learners strengthen their technical skills, musical understanding, and performance confidence. My background allows me to support students preparing for exams, recitals, coursework, or personal musical growth. I focus on building a strong foundation while encouraging students to explore their own musical identity.
My teaching style is clear, supportive, and student-focused. I believe in open communication and adapt my lessons to match each student’s goals and learning pace. I break down complex piano pieces and theory concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps. This helps students feel confident and motivated instead of overwhelmed.
