About Sheryar

I am a doctor with a strong academic and clinical background, and I enjoy helping students prepare for medical school entrance exams in a clear, structured, and exam-focused way. My medical training and exam experience have helped me understand the skills needed for competitive medical admissions, including reasoning, decision-making, time management, ethical judgement, and performance under pressure.

I have successfully passed **USMLE Step 1** and **PLAB**, and I have also been involved in **multiple research projects**. These experiences have strengthened my ability to think analytically, interpret information quickly, and explain difficult concepts in a simple and organised way. Although the UCAT is not a traditional knowledge-based exam, it requires strong strategy, pattern recognition, accuracy, and timing, all of which can be improved with the right guidance and practice.

As a tutor, I focus on helping students understand how to approach each UCAT section logically and efficiently. I aim to make lessons practical and personalised, using timed practice, question review, mistake analysis, and section-specific strategies. My goal is to help students become more confident, reduce avoidable errors, and develop a clear method for tackling the exam.

I understand how stressful medical school applications can be, especially when students are balancing UCAT preparation with school, personal statements, interviews, and academic pressure. My teaching approach is patient, supportive, and focused on helping each student improve step by step. Whether a student is just starting UCAT preparation or trying to improve a specific section, I aim to provide focused guidance that makes preparation more organised, effective, and confidence-building.

My UCAT lessons are designed to help students improve speed, accuracy, and confidence across all sections of the exam. The UCAT is not a knowledge-heavy exam; it is mainly a test of reasoning, timing, pattern recognition, decision-making, and exam technique. Because of this, my lessons focus on strategy, timed practice, and learning how to approach each question type efficiently.

I teach all UCAT sections, including Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning, and Situational Judgement. Lessons can cover section-specific strategies, common question types, timing methods, shortcut techniques, pattern recognition, logical reasoning, probability, data interpretation, ethical scenarios, and how to avoid common traps.

Each lesson is tailored to the student’s current level, target score, and exam timeline. If a student is new to the UCAT, I start by explaining how each section works and how to approach questions step by step. If a student is already practising, we can focus on timed drills, reviewing incorrect answers, identifying weak sections, improving pacing, and building a stronger exam strategy.

My teaching style is practical, active, and exam-focused. We work through questions together, analyse mistakes, practise under timed conditions, and develop methods that students can use independently during the real exam. I also help students understand how to manage pressure, decide when to skip questions, and balance speed with accuracy.

The goal of my lessons is to make UCAT preparation more structured and less overwhelming. Students will learn how to approach each section with a clear strategy, improve their timing, reduce careless mistakes, and build the confidence needed to perform well on test day.
