About Zaynab
Hi!
I’m Zaynab, and I specialise in tutoring English Language and English Literature for GCSE students aiming for those top grades of 7, 8, and 9.
With a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English, along with over 100 hours of tutoring experience, I’ve helped many students unlock their potential and achieve fantastic results. My aim is to do my best to help you achieve those top grades to open up doors to your dream career!
In our lessons, we’ll tackle essential English Language skills, like mastering PEEL paragraphs, analysing and inferring the hidden meaning from quotes, and crafting stories, articles, letters, and speeches. For English Literature, we’ll dive deep into key texts like Macbeth, An Inspector Calls, A Christmas Carol, and poetry collections like Power and Conflict or Worlds and Lives. I’ll guide you through the PRTEZCEL paragraph structure, help you unpack past paper questions, and share strategies I've developed over the many years of teaching students.

I conduct 1-hour English lessons, held two times a week for GCSE students, focusing on PEEL paragraphs, essay structuring, and language vs. structure.
For English Language, we’ll focus on essential skills that will set you up for exam success:
- Structuring PEEL paragraphs – I provide a clear, step-by-step strategy for building strong, organized PEEL paragraphs.
- Understanding the difference between language and structure – We’ll explore how each serves a unique purpose in writing and analysis.
- Analysing and inferring from quotes – You’ll learn to draw insight and depth from quotes, using evidence to strengthen responses.
- Writing in different formats – Together, we’ll work on crafting stories, letters, articles, and speeches with clarity, purpose, and engaging style.
In English Literature, we cover key texts, including An Inspector Calls, Macbeth, Animal Farm, A Christmas Carol, and poetry collections like Power and Conflict or Worlds and Lives. My approach includes:
- PRTEZCEL paragraph structure – I teach a structured method to help you craft analytical paragraphs that are clear, well-organised, and insightful.
- Working through past paper questions – Practice makes perfect! We go through past paper questions to familiarise you with exam expectations and refine your answering technique.
- Exploding key quotations – I provide thematic, essential quotations for each text and teach you how to “explode” them—analysing words, meanings, and deeper implications to add depth to your responses.
With targeted strategies, practice, and personalised support, I’ll help you build the skills and confidence needed for top grades in both English Language and Literature!
