I have been involved with at risk youth in excess of 25
years. My roles have included, but have not been limited to, program manager, counselor, tutor, role
model, disciplinarian, and at times confidant of those who were entrusted to my care.
These experiences have imbued me with a sense of urgency and understanding about
teaching/instructing people, but particularly younger students who have just started their journey into
adulthood. I am student focused and relationship oriented and tend to assume the role(s) of facilitator,
motivator, cheer leader, and role model.
I have tutored/instructed student populations K-12 as well as adults who in many instances were
disadvantaged and needed special treatment and attention.
