About Yutong
Hi, I’m Yutong. I started learning the violin at the age of five, studying under the concertmaster violinists of various symphony orchestras. and joined symphony orchestra when I was 12 years old. In 2022, I graduated from a music conservatory in China and started my music journey in the UK. I graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with a Master's degree in 2024, was studying under the guidance of Roman Mints and receiving additional mentorship from Nathaniel Vallois during the course. During my studies, I participated in multiple music education projects organised by conservatoire, including those at HollandHolland House Infant School & Nursery and Braidwood Trust School Home, where I was involved in designing and delivering music lessons, encouraging students to learn and enjoy music. I also took part in a music charity project at Melchley Care Home, bringing the warmth of music to elderly residents. I am a compassionate, attentive, and experienced teacher, capable of teaching in either English or Mandarin.

1. **Beginner Stage** In this stage, the posture for holding the violin and bowing technique are fundamental. I will focus on establishing a solid foundation for the student’s future progress. 2. **Basic Stage (1 year of learning)** At this point, the student has laid the groundwork and can begin practising more complex fingerings and bow techniques. The focus during this stage will be on intonation and rhythm. 3. **Intermediate Stage (1.5 years of learning)** The student’s musical expression and playing technique will further develop. They can start learning simple concertos and solo pieces, and I will encourage them to participate in small performances. 4. **Advanced Stage (2 years of learning)** At this new stage, the student has acquired a certain level of playing ability and will learn more advanced techniques and pieces. In addition, music theory will be emphasised to enhance the student’s understanding and expressive capacity in music. Different methods will be applied according to the student's learning abilities and level.
