About Katie
Being able to do something I am passionate about as a career has been one of the most rewarding things in my life thus far. Learning has always been something I love and will continue to love for the rest of my life. I reiterate to all of my students that we truly never stop learning, we are lifelong learners-all of us!
Choosing to study education and work with students everyday brings me the most joy I could imagine. Seeing the "lightbulb" moments when students understand a new concept or master content is an amazing thing. I would love it if you came to learn with me!

After establishing a genuine and trusting relationship with my students I then tailor each lesson to meet the specific reading needs of each individual student. Building relationships with my students is one of the most important parts of my job as an educator. Students want to learn from someone they trust and have a positive relationship with.
Each of my reading lessons contains the components of: phonological awareness, auditory discrimination, high frequency words, reading practice with comprehension, spelling patterns and handwriting.
Establishing a predictable structure and routine with each lesson helps elementary age students know what to expect each time.
Lessons are typically for elementary aged students who are struggling readers or have dyslexia or dysgraphia.
