About Martina
As a Master’s graduate from the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University, I bring both academic knowledge and practical design experience to my tutoring. My goal is to help students gain confidence in their creative abilities while developing the technical and critical thinking skills needed to excel in architectural and design studies. I take a student-centred approach, each lesson is tailored to your goals, skill level, and preferred learning style. My tutoring approach is highly personalised. I adapt each session to the student’s learning style, goals, and level of confidence. For design-based subjects, I focus on developing both creative and technical skills, helping students not only produce stronger design outcomes but also understand the thinking process behind them. I encourage critical discussion, visual communication, and iterative design methods, much like those used in professional architectural practice. Lessons typically last 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the complexity of the topic and the student’s needs. During longer sessions, we usually balance concept development, feedback on existing work, and hands-on design exercises or portfolio reviews. I hold a Master’s degree in Architecture from the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University, where I developed a strong foundation in architectural design, sustainable practices, and presentation techniques. I have experience mentoring undergraduate students, assisting with portfolio development, and reviewing design coursework. My lessons are suitable for students of all levels - from GCSE or A-level pupils exploring design for the first time, to undergraduate and Master’s students looking for in-depth feedback or guidance on academic and portfolio work.
