About Rebecca
I am a Master's Student in Psychology with a background in Journalism and Law. I am currently tutoring over 10 students in a mixture of GCSE English Literature and Language as well as KS3 English. Whilst studying for my BA in Journalism, I was the deputy editor-in-chief for the student magazine (RGU Radar Magazine) and founded an award-winning society advocating for social rights. I want to provide some advice, support, and guidance to hopefully prepare you to achieve your potential in your English studies. At the end of the day, it's all about teamwork! To give some personal examples of this, I helped my sister who is on the Autistic spectrum with her National 5 English and Higher English- I'm very proud to say she achieved A's in both degrees.

I believe it is vital to prepare lessons around the individual needs of the students I teach. For the first lesson, I try to gauge what they are struggling with regarding the subject- whether that be structure, themes, language use, etc. That way I can properly assess and adhere to their requirements. I try to make the lessons as stimulating as possible to keep attention spans going. So, I will utilize YouTube clips, small quizzes, and various other interactive opportunities. It's all about practice and if anything isn't clicking, I'll take time to answer any questions, as that is what is most important. Lastly, we can find out what techniques work best for the student to study with i.e. colour flashcards, creating acronyms, linking stimuli, repetitive writing, etc.

Details
I charge £10 for KS3, GCSE students and National 5, A-levels, or Scottish Highers will have a higher rate of £12 per 1-hour lesson. If you cancel 24 hours before the lesson no cancellation fee will apply. However, if it is after 24 hours a £5 cancellation fee will apply.
