About Katrina
Master of Public Health (Monash), Bachelor of Health Sciences, registered podiatrist with experience across both public and private healthcare. I work for government in strategic health system planning, which means my teaching draws on what's actually happening in the health system, not just what's in the textbook.
I also have a published peer-reviewed paper in occupational rehabilitation, so I understand what academic rigor looks like at a higher level. I teach from both academic and professional experience and aim to make that combination useful for students working through complex health sciences content.

I focus on understanding over memorisation. Most students struggle not because the content is too hard, but because they're trying to learn it out of order, so I start with the conceptual framework and work outward. I use real health system examples to make theory click faster, and for assignment work I focus heavily on structure and use of evidence, which is where most marks are won or lost.
