About Kellie
I’m interested in helping students actually understand the topics we study together. Confidence in class comes from understanding, not memorization, that’s why I take a personalized approach to each student and their needs. I do believe the best learning happens when there is a healthy respect for one another and a sense of comfortability (dare I say friendship) between myself and students. You need to feel both safe and understood in any learning environment, and that is my #1 concern.

Born and raised in Chicago, currently attending DePaul for my master's in Anthropology. I was raised in the Chicago Public School system and understand the unique and overwhelming environment that high school can become for teenagers. Previous studies in sociology, philosophy, and history make up the majority of my personal academic interests. I also, however, possess both a degree in Mortuary Science and a license to embalm, which required advanced study of chemistry, biology, and human anatomy. I care most about helping people understand concepts on their own terms, not just teaching memorization techniques. Learning should be exciting, not stressful! Offer services both virtually and in-person, though I do believe in-person is the best way to tutor.
